Angels get Van Mil to finalize Fuentes deal

The Twins finalized their trade for left-handed reliever Brian Fuentes on Wednesday by sending right-hander Loek Van Mil to the Angels.
A 25-year-old native of the Netherlands, Van Mil was 1-2 with a 6.37 ERA in 23 games for Double-A New Britain this season. Van Mil, who at 7-foot-1, is the tallest player in professional baseball, began the year at Class-A Fort Myers, where he went 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in three outings. (MLB.com)

Francoeur traded to Rangers
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The first-place Texas Rangers have acquired outfielder Jeff Francoeur for their playoff push.
The New York Mets sent Francoeur and cash to Texas for infielder Joaquin Arias, who was designated for assignment last week when Alex Cora was called up by the Rangers.
The strong-armed Francoeur is hitting .237 with 11 homers and 54 RBIs. Arias batted .276 in 50 games for the Rangers, including 22 starts. He had two stints on the disabled list. (CP)

The Rockies and Red Sox squeezed in another trade on Tuesday afternoon, swapping reliever Manny Delcarmen for a Minor League pitcher just hours before the waiver trade deadline.
Colorado acquired Delcarmen from the Red Sox for Minor League right-hander Chris Balcom-Miller and cash considerations. It wasn't immediately known how much of Delcarmen's salary his new club would assume. (MLB.com)

Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman is bringing his 105 mph fastball to the big leagues.
The Reds plan to call up the hard-throwing lefty before their game Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers, trying to strengthen their bullpen for a playoff push in September and beyond.
By adding him in August, the Reds will make him eligible for the postseason - and unleash him on opposing hitters who have never seen him. (AP)
