Escobar is on the DL with another shoulder ailmen, and although he says it's not serious his control problems this year paint a different picture

AL SCHEDULE NOTES

The Red Sox are the only team with a full week of games.12 team play six. Oakland only plays five.

The Yanks stay home for three before going to Boston... Texas goes to U.S. Cellular, then back home for three.

On the pitcher-friendly side, Detroit stays home for six.

Minnesota Twins MIN: Go on the road to face two mediocre pitching staffs in Seattle and Kansas City.

Cleveland Indians CLE: Travel to New York and Tampa Bay to face the back end of pitching rotations.

Oakland A's OAK: Two against the Angels and then three at Texas.

UNFAVORABLE

Kansas City Royals KC: Facing Detroit and Minnesota makes for a tough week.

Toronto Blue Jays TOR: Play the Red Sox before visiting an improving Baltimore pitching staff.

New York Yankees NYY: This lineup is almost impossible to contain, however, match-ups against Cleveland and Boston will make it tough.

FIELD GRUMBLINGS

ANGELS SS Orlando Cabrera was in pain after Friday's game. He was hit on the elbow by a pitch in the eighth inning and is considered day-to-day. Check to see if he was in the LA lineup on Saturday and Sunday before commiting to him in Week 3... BLUE JAYS 3B Troy Glaus is out with a sore heal until further notice ... INDIANS C Victor Martinez should be back to DH as soon as this weekend... ORIOLES C Ramon Hernandez (oblique) could return from the DL at some point during the team's series against Tampa Bay that begins Monday, according to the Baltimore Sun. Hernandez was pain-free as of Thursday... TWINS SS Jason Bartlett missed two games earlier in the week to rest a sore groin giving rookie SS Alexi Casilla some playing time, Bartlett was back in the lineup for Friday's game and appears safe for AL-only owners in Week 3. If those can stomach his current hitting slump.. WHITE SOX C A.J. Pierzynski is in a 2-for-22 slump...

MOUND GRUMBLINGS

ANGELS Jered Weaver, on the disabled list because of shoulder tightness, joined the Angels in Boston Friday and is scheduled to make his 2007 debut Monday. Angels Manager Mike Scioscia had Weaver "penciled in" for Monday, but not until Weaver threw 92 pitches on Wednesday over seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out seven, in a rehabilitation start for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga did the right-hander solidify the spot. Kelvim Escobar is on the DL with another shoulder ailmen, and although he says it's not serious his control problems this year paint a different picture. Escobar has in a nutshell become a reliable starter because of his improvement in command. The coaching staff didn't like what they witnessed in his first two starts and will make sure he is 100% before sending him back ot the mound.

ATHLETICS Joe Kennedy will be skipped in the A's rotation early next week, according to the Contra Costa Times. He will pitch in relief before making his next start April 22 or 23. The team might choose to use Chad Guadin twice next week depending on his Tuesday performance. Esteban Loaiza (trapezius) was cleared to throw on Friday, according to the Contra Costa Times, but the A's have no schedule for his return.... RANGERS Jamie Wright had n MRI exam on his shoulder Friday but the joint showed no significant structural damage. He was placed on the DL Friday and will miss at least two starts. Kameron Loe will replace Wright in the rotation.

ORIOLES Jaret Wright was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder soreness. Wright, who left Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers

Less than two weeks into the 2007 campaign and Pavano is already missing a start due to injury
in the sixth inning, likely will miss a couple of starts. Wright said he would try to play catch on Friday or Saturday.... ROYALS Gil Meche is questionable for his next start with a hamstring injury … YANKEES Carl Pavano was scratched from his last start with an arm injury, but is scheduled to take the mound Tuesday against Cleveland and again Sunday vs. Boston . Mike Mussina could be facing a DL stint because of a sore hamstring. Jeff Karstens could come off the DL as soon as this week. Chien-Ming Wang  (hamstring) could be back in the Yankees' rotation as soon as April 24 and have a double start in Week 4... BLUE JAYS Roy Halladay threw a complete game against the Tigers on Friday. He gave up one run in 10 innings. Hallady is no longer a candidate to offer the fantasy nation top strike out totals, but his ability to manage a game, keep his pitch count low and control tempo place him at the top of the pitching charts.

BULLPEN GRUMBLINGS

BLUE JAYS put Brandn League on the 15-day disabled after getting approval to void his option to triple-A on March 25. The right-hander, unable to pitch because of shoulder pain, can now be sent to the minors on a rehabilitation assignment... MARINERS reliever Arthur Rhodes is likely to undergo Tommy John surgery  ... ROYALS Octavio Dotel (oblique) had a setback, and there is no timetable for his return. For the time being manager Buddy Bell will use rookie Joakim Soria as Dotel’s primary replacement as the teams closer. Soria has yet to allow a run in five innings over four appearances and retired six straight hitters over two innings Tuesday in preserving a 6-3 victory at Toronto. Bell said veterans David Riske and Joel Peralta will supplement Soria in a committee approach as the teams setup men. … RANGERS Eric Gagne had not even so much as thrown off a mound before being signed by Texas, but if last night (first save) was an indication of his readiness and health it's safe to insert him into daily and weekly formats...TWINS Jesse Crain, who was unavailable to pitch earlier in the week because of a sore shoulder was ready to pitch Friday. It appears safe for ROTO owners to keep him active.
