17.
Rich Harden - Oakland A's (25 years old)

Rich Harden has seemingly gone the way of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.  When he came up he was awesome, and while there's still a chance that he's healed up and ready to dominate again, he is a health risk. If he falls towards the later rounds in the draft though, this is definitely a guy I'd gamble on.

18. Daniel Cabrera - Baltimore Orioles (26 years old)

Daniel Cabrera is one of those guys with the million dollar arms and a ten cent brain. His stuff is absolutely devastating, the problem is that he hasn't been able to harness it regularly. It appeared as if Mazzone got him straightened out a bit in the second half of last season, so he's a decent gamble.  If his walk rates start declining he's going to be a monster.

19. Jose Contreras - Chicago White Sox (35 years old)

Contreras has settled in with the White Sox and should continue to be a solid #3 type pitcher in 2007. He's a decent strikeout pitcher (6.15 K/9) who does a good job of keeping the ball on the ground. One very encouraging sign for Contreras is that his HR/9 have dropped every year for the past three seasons, the importance of which cannot be overstated when your home park is U.S. Cellular.

20. Curt Schilling - Boston Red Sox (40 years old)

Schilling had an obscene K/BB ratio of 6.54, and 8.07 K/9 as a 39 year old last season.  There's no reason to expect him to do any less in 2007. Schilling succeeds at such a high level because he has better control than anyone in the league, and that's a skill that ages just fine. If there is one concern for him (and all Boston pitchers) it's whether or not the bullpen will be able to finish his games for him.
