33. Brandon McCarthy - Texas
Rangers (23 years old)
McCarthy was once the premier pitching prospect in the White Sox organization.
Many expected the Sox to make room for him in the rotation this season, but
instead, he finds himself stepping into the Rangers rotation.
Arlington plays about the same as
Chicago in terms of hitter's parks, so don't
let the trade effect how you value McCarthy.

34. Mark Buehrle - Chicago
White Sox (28 years old)
Buehrle is an innings eating horse. That's his upside. He'll pitch better
than 200 innings every year, win 15 games and strikeout 100-150 batters.
Barring last season, which may have been a result of fatigue from the extended
post-season the year before, Buehrle is as consistent as it gets. As far as
pitchers go, sometimes having that assurance for a base is enough to give you the courage
to take a flier on a younger, riskier prospect with mad upside in later rounds.

35. Jarrod Washburn - Seattle
Mariners (32 years old)
Washburn is a mind-numbingly marginal pitcher…not bad enough to kill you, but
definitely not good enough to warrant targeting him on draft day. If you
need a spot start and he's facing a favorable match-up…that's about the apex of
his value.

36. Jake Westbrook - Cleveland
Indians (28 years old)
Westbrook always lurks on the fringes of decent. He'll win 15 games every
year, but do nothing special for you in terms of strikeouts or ratios.
His groundball/fly-ball ratio is an unbelievable 3.01, and pitchers like that
will always win games if they have any sort of infield backing them up. The
best use for Westbrook is as a spot starter for a team looking for a boost in
the wins category.
