Betemit fighting for the starting 3B job in LA

Betemit hit 12 of his 18 HRs in the second half, when he was with the Dodgers

13. Wilson Betemit, Los Angeles Dodgers

He had a pretty good 2006 between Atlanta and LA, slugging .469, and ended up hitting 12 of his 18 HRs in the second half, when he was predominantly with LA. He can't hit lefties; he hit just .189 against them all last year, and just .216 on the road. He's going to have to make some incredible adjustments to be the major leaguer we've been told he will become. You should be extremely careful with anybody who John Schuerholz trades away though; he probably knows something we don't.

14. JJ Hardy, Milwaukee Brewers

He was injured for most of last season, but is better than a good number of guys on this list.He has a reputation suited for a no-hit, great field shortstop, and largely that's what he is, but I think with the right work ethic, he can improve to a .800 OPS in the next few years. We'll see. He's got and will continue to have great plate discipline. His BB totals will always be at or around his K rates. His career OBA is still .319; he doesn't steal any bases, but also hasn't gotten enough playing time to merit any criticism.

15. Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies

Rushed through the Colorado system, he was promoted from Double-A in 2006 to have his 108 PA and have a drink with the guys.He projects to be someone who hits for a pretty decent average, HRs in the mid-teens, and a good 60 or so XBH. He still doesn't have any experience in the major leagues, and strikes me as a player who will struggle during the first half until he finally sets himself and starts to hit pitching at the big league level halfway through the season.
