Polanco among several options at third for Phillies.

INSIGHT:
The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in signing free agent second baseman Placido Polanco to fill their opening at third base. Polanco, a Gold Glover at second base this year, may be willing to move to third for a contender. The Phillies are also considering Mark DeRosa and Adrian Beltre as other options. (AP)

Detroit second baseman Placido Polanco sprained his left ankle Friday night, and experienced swelling and soreness Saturday. Leyland said he will not play the final two home games, but hoped Polanco can play if Monday's game is necessary. (MLive)
