The Phillies placed IF Placido Polanco on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Polanco has inflammation and possibly more in his left elbow. He said Monday that he might need surgery after the season. (MLB.com)

The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in signing free agent second baseman Placido Polanco to fill their opening at third base.
