Aug-27-2010 Lilly placed on waivers by Dodgers
| INSIGHT: Ted Lilly is the latest Dodgers player to be placed on waivers by the club, according to FOX Sports.
The team is believed to have placed on waivers virtually all of its upcoming free agents to provide flexibility should management decide that a postseason berth is not realistic and it's time to plan for 2011.
Lilly is 5-0 since being acquired from the Cubs before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline. (MLB.com)
| Jul-31-2010 Lilly, Theriot sent to Dodgers
| INSIGHT: The Dodgers acquired veteran left-handed starting pitcher Ted Lilly, infielder Ryan Theriot and $2.5 million from the Cubs on Saturday for second baseman Blake DeWitt and Minor Leaguers Kyle Smit and Brett Wallach.
Lilly becomes the fifth starter, replacing Rule 5 rookie Carlos Monasterios, who moves back to the bullpen as a long reliever. Lilly -- 3-8 with a 3.69 ERA -- has $4.3 million remaining on his contract this year and will be a free agent after the season. (MLB.com)

| INSIGHT: Cubs left-hander Ted Lilly returned from almost a month on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation. He allowed four singles in six scoreless innings, struck out four and walked one in the Cubs’ 4-1 loss to the Padres. Lilly was on a pitch count of 85-90 and ended up throwing 70.(AP)

| INSIGHT: Ted Lilly got his 100th career win on Saturday, allowing just four hits in eight strong innings as the Cubs beat the first-place St. Louis Cardinals 5-2 to stop a three-game losing streak. Lilly is 100-81 in his major league career, which began in 1999. He has also pitched for the Expos, Yankees, Athletics and Blue Jays. Of his 100 wins, 41 have come in his 2 1/2 seasons with Chicago.
