It took a little while, but things are looking up for Keith Bogans with the Magic.

We are nearing the end of our second week of fantasy hoops. While the Ronnie Brewers and Martell Websters are likely long gone from your free agent list, there is still plenty of value to be had.
This week we dive into another big man that may be able to help your long-term frontcourt worries and a shooting guard to give you an extra boost in your long range game. Enjoy.
Robert Swift, C, Seattle Supersonics
Remember this guy? Swift was the 12th selection overall back in 2004 and now has so many tattoos that he looks like a coloring book. A coloring book with outrageously long hair and a goatee. But before you get out your 64-pack of Crayola’s, check out Swift’s per minute stats since he returned to the starting lineup this season. If you recall, he missed all of last year with a devastating knee injury. One look at his numbers thus far and you would think he was a three-year veteran…that played all three years.
Though the Sonics are 0-5, Swift has started in the last two contests, averaging five rebounds, 1.5 steals and two blocks – in 17 minutes of play. Granted, he also racked up five fouls in the second of the aforementioned, but he did nail both of his free throw attempts.
Nick Collison offers the Sonics a very solid option down low, but with the former Jayhawk being 6’9”, he can be a bit undersized at times. The offense will filter through Kevin Durant, Gerald Wilkins, Chris Wilcox and Earl Watson (when he finally gets going). Swift is 7’0” with a huge reach and can offer the struggling Sonics with a better defensive presence when he can stay on the court.
Assuming Swift’s recovery from the ACL surgery goes as planned, P.J. Carlisimo will give the center more time on the floor. As of now, he’s being limited in back-to-back games but seems to be earning the praises of his coach.
If good looks count in your league, Swift isn’t a guy for you. However, he’s a starting center on a rebuilding team and, as of today, was available in several deep leagues. He should only be considered by the utmost desperate in standard formats, but those with bench room will definitely want to consider adding.
Keith Bogans, SG, Orlando Magic
Who would’ve thought that it would take the second season of the second tour of duty with a team to burst on to the scene? In what many expected to be the breakout of J.J. Redick or Trevor Ariza, Keith Bogans has rained on their respective parades by posting averages thus far that would be career highs if sustained.
When Bogans averaged 32 minutes a game in Houston, he struggled to reach double-digit scoring and failed to really provide any sort of value outside of the occasional nights of long-range contribution. Now that the former Wildcat is the starting shooting guard in Orlando, he’s resurrected his game and is off to per game averages of 11 points, six boards and 2.5 threes.
His scoring patters are a roller coaster of sorts as he’s gone for six, 14, eight, nine and 17 points in five games this season. But I’d be remiss if I did not mention career highs in field goal percentage (45.7) as well as free throw percentage (90.0). The fact of the matter is that Bogans is getting the job done while being on an offense that would make him the fourth scoring option on a good day behind Rashard Lewis, Dwight Howard and the All-Star-like player that apparently stole a Hedo Turkoglu jersey.
While I have my doubts that Bogans will hold on to the starting shooting guard slot all season long, without at least giving way to one of the aforementioned swingmen, he need to be rostered in all formats simply due to his contribution from downtown. Everything else is a bonus at this point.
