Kirk Hinrich - Fantasy Basketball

NBA Fantasy Weekly 10

Sometimes, it's all about scoring.

Sometimes, you can't get enough.

Coaches love a solid rebounder, a Paul Milsap type; teammates love a passer, a la Jason Kidd; but everyone loves the guy who can just put it in the hoop. The guy who, not only is he getting the ball in the fourth quarter, but he wants the ball.

Here are some of the top scorers from the last week in the League:

No. 1 is none other than Mr. Dwayne Wade (25.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 6.7 APG). He hasn't had the greatest season, and he certainly isn't on the greatest team, but D-Wade can still score when he wants to. This week he averaged 34.7 including a 42-point performance against the Cavaliers - also known as the Heat's 14th consecutive loss. Despite his team's lack-luster performance, Wade continues to score points - especially since Shaq has been sidelined with an ailing hip.

Next is the 6-footer, Allen Iverson (27.7 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 6.8 APG). The man is amazing. When he came to Denver, no one thought there's be enough shots to satisfy both him and Carmello Anthony. But somehow, the two have clicked well and Iverson is putting up huge numbers. He averaged 27.7 this week, while dishing out 6.0 assists. The little man can play.

The next name may surprise you, but don't think for a second you won't hear it from now on. Monta Ellis (17.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.3 APG) is a beast, a small beast. He averaged 33.5 PPG this week including a 39 point performance against the Nets Thursday night. This kid is quick; this kid can shoot; this kid can play.

Here are the week's top performances:

Ellis might have gotten 39, but it was Baron Davis' (22.3 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 8.1 APG) triple-double that stole the show. He scored 25 points, had 21 rebounds and 12 assists - and five steals - in his effort to help the Warriors past New Jersey in the week's strangest game. It included a 22-0 run by the Warriors that the Nets overcame and a Hack-a-Boone method used by Warriors coach don Nelson in the, wait for it, third quarter! Granted, Boone does shoot 34-percent, so...

Captain Kirk Hinrich (12.0 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 6.2 APG) came up big with Ben Gordon and Luol Deng sidelined for most of the week scoring 38 points on 14-of-21 shooting Wednesday. He also added seven rebounds and 10 assists in the effort. And then 31 on Saturday night...

Richard Hamilton (19.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 4.4 APG) has quiety had a fantastic fantasy season. He is a consistent scorer and who grabs some rebounds and always dishes a few assists. Friday night against the Magic, Rip went for 32 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

And just to toss in, Kobe Bryant (27.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 5.1 APG) put up 40 on Friday while Caron Butler (21.5 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 4.4 APG) and Al Jefferson (20.7 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 1.3 APG) each put up 40 on Sunday night.
