 Waiver Wire
Wire 'Em (Pick up)
Shane Battier - if you're looking afor a solid player who can shoot the rock, look to Battier. Probably one of the smarter players in the league, Battier knows how to always have himself a decent game and be in the right spots when he needs to. Since Yao Ming went down, his value has risen. In his last five games he's averaging 11.6 PPG and 7.4 RPG - up from his season averages of 8.9 and 5.1. He also gets you about two 3-pointers per night.
Anthony Parker - This Raptors guard is a solid ball player. Owned in just 30-percent of leagues (according to Espn.com), this guy has stepped up his production as of late. In his last two games, Parker put up 24 and 25 points while adding six rebounds on 21-of-33 shooting.
Erick Dampier - with the addition of Kidd (and the loss of Dagsana Diop), Dampier is officially the man in the middle in the Big-D. Kidd loves passing to his big men down low and as long as this guy can make lay-ups, he should flirt with about 8-10 points a night. And what make's his even more attractive is his recent dedication to the rebounding craft. In his last five he's averaging 10+ boards and has seven or more in eight of his last nine games.
Waive 'Em
Jamario Moon - Okay. So the guy was in the dunk contest, what else has he done for me lately? There are better guys available at the same position as Mr. Moon. The high-flyer is a great story of perseverance, but most likely will not be included on any fantasy champion's roster. He's averaging just 8.5 PPG and 6.1 RPG this season while playing under 30 minutes. He's the type of starter that is always the first one subbed out. He's just not a solid performer.
Kirk Hinrich - It's a sad story, but Hinrich has really fallen off the radar lately - and seemingly taken the Bulls with him. Benched last week by coach Jim Boylan for his lack of effort, Hinrich just isn't getting it done lately. Ben Gordon has been bringing the ball up late in games since Kirk can't get it done. After averaging 17 points and more than six assists in January, his numbers fell to just 13.1 PPG and 5.4 APG in February. His minutes also went from more than 37 in Jan to just 27 in Feb. And now with Larry Hughes in the backcourt, Hinrich has an uphill climb to prove he's worth his $11 mil salary.
