Bosh still banged up

Chris Bosh - Fantasy Basketball

Rumors, moves, injuries and newsmakers...

Bosh still banged up; Villanueva enjoying his time in starting five; Roy burns Minnesota again; Pavlovic eyes imminent return; AK-47 back on the court; and more...

OH MY BOSH
The knee injury sustained last week by Toronto forward Chris Bosh looks to be more serious than initially believed. The three-time All-Star was originally planning on missing just three games. However, when the Raptors face the Warriors on Wednesday night, it will be the seventh consecutive game Bosh has been unavailable.

The Dinos have struggled without their best player, losing five of the six games he has missed. On the bright side, reserve big man Rasho Nesterovic has stepped up in his absence. The Slovenian center has scored at least 16 points in three of those games, while averaging 8.0 rebounds per outing.

Bosh continues to be listed as day-to-day. No new timetable has been announced for his return.

BACK ON TRACK
Milwaukee's Charlie Villanueva has done a great job since taking over the starting power forward job from injured Yi Jianlian (wrist). INTEL: The former UConn star had 24 points and a season-high 16 rebounds in the Bucks' 105-97 loss to the Wizards on Tuesday. In the four games he has played since moving into the starting unit, Villanueva has averaged 24.3 points and 9.8 rebounds. The Bucks obtained Villanueva from Toronto in a trade for T.J. Ford prior to last season.

SWEET PAYBACK
Portland's Brandon Roy reminded Minnesota again on Tuesday what a big mistake they made when they traded him to the Blazers for Randy Foye back on draft day in 2006. Roy had 27 points and nine assists in Portland's 103-96 victory. INTEL: Roy, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year has been even better in his second year in the league. He is averaging 19.6 points, 5.7 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game and appears set to be an All-Star for the next decade. Foye is averaging 11.4 points, 2.8 assists and 2.7 boards per game for the T-Wolves.

AK-47 RETURNS
Utah's Andrei Kirilenko was back on the court against Chicago on Tuesday after sitting out three games with a hip strain. INTEL: The Russian forward chipped in 12 points with four rebounds and four assists, but it wasn't enough as the Bulls won a 108-96 decision. Kirilenko had been out of the lineup since a collision with Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki last week. C.J. Miles had been starting in his place.

ROOKIE ROCKING
Washington's Nick Young continued his strong play in March, scoring a career-high 22 points in the Wizards' 105-97 win over the Bucks on Tuesday. INTEL: With Caron Butler (hip) and Gilbert Arenas (knee) both still unavailable, the team has had to rely more on the 22-year-old swingman recently. Over his last four games, he has averaged 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest. He's not about to steal the Rookie of the Year award away from Seattle's Kevin Durant, but he has shown his team that he can be a solid contributor when given the opportunity.

SNOWED OUT
Cleveland will likely be without guard Eric Snow for the next four weeks due to a sore knee. INTEL: However, the news isn't all bad on the injury front for the Cavaliers. Sasha Pavlovic is reportedly on the verge of returning from a seven-week absence with a foot injury. Considering his scoring potential is much higher than Snow's, it's a pretty good trade-off. Pavlovic told the Cleveland Plain Dealer he expects to be back in uniform by the end of this week.

SWEET LOU
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Sixers guard Willie Green will miss his team's next two games due to a lower back sprain. INTEL: Look for Louis Williams and Rodney Carney to pick up Green's minutes. Williams has had a breakout year in 2007-08, averaging 11.1 points and 3.3 assists per game in his third season with Philly.

LESSON LEARNED?
Indiana's David Harrison was back on the court against Seattle on Tuesday after being suspended one game by the Pacers for conduct detrimental to the team. INTEL: The reserve big man turned in one of his most effective games of the season, blocking a career-high six shots to go with six boards and four points in the Pacers' 114-107 win over the Sonics. Harrison needs to make the most of his playing chances with both Troy Murphy and Jeff Foster ahead of him on the depth chart at center.

THAT'S AMARE
Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire had another big night on Tuesday, scoring 29 points and adding 13 rebounds in the Suns' 132-111 rout of the Grizzlies. INTEL: While the addition of Shaquille O'Neal hasn't gone completely smoothly in Phoenix, one player who has benefited is Stoudemire. The 25-year-old has been able to shift from center to his more natural position of power forward. With O'Neal focused more on rebounding and defense, Stoudemire has been able to concentrate primarily on scoring.

KOBE LOVES TORONTO
Ever since he scored 81 points against Toronto two years ago, Kobe Bryant has enjoyed playing the Raptors. On Tuesday, the superstar had another big game, scoring 34 points in the Lakers' 117-108 win over the Dinos. INTEL: In two games against Toronto this season, Bryant has scored a total of 80 points, good for an average of 40.0 points per game. Only the 46.3 points per game average he has against the Mavericks (also in two games) is higher.
