Bucks G Redd to miss two weeks
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Bucks guard Michael Redd suffered a strained left patella tendon in Saturday's 96-85 victory over Detroit, and will miss at least the next two weeks of action.
Redd underwent an MRI on Sunday which revealed the injury. He will be reevaluated in two weeks by team physician Dr. Michael Gordon. (Sports Network)

Even though it's highly unlikely that guard Michael Redd will play for the Milwaukee Bucks in their game against the Washington Wizards tonight at the Bradley Center because of an ankle sprain, he feels lucky. That's because his injury could have been a whole lot worse. Redd was injured late in the third quarter of the game against New York on Sunday at Madison Square Garden when Knicks guard Nate Robinson fell into his ankle. Redd said after practice Tuesday that had he not seen Robinson coming and braced his body for impact, his knee might have been blown out. Redd said the chances were poor that he would play against the Wizards and the team lists him as "day to day" on the injury report. A knee injury could have been much more serious. Redd showed up at the team's practice facility early Tuesday morning to get treatment and later spent time in the swimming pool doing conditioning work.

After sitting out the opener in Guangzhou last week due to left knee soreness, Redd gave a strong performance Saturday in the Bucks’ 109-108 loss to the Golden State Warriors at the Olympic venue in Beijing. Michael Redd was more than ready for the Milwaukee Bucks’ finale in the NBA China Games. Redd finished with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, and he sank 5 of 8 attempts from three-point range. “Michael’s been very good,” said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. “He’s tried to do everything we’ve asked of him; he’s worked to defend. Michael Redd did not play in the Milwaukee Bucks’ exhibition victory over Golden State on Wednesday in China, and the official reason was left knee soreness. But it appears to be part of the plan to keep the Bucks shooting guard in peak condition for the regular season, and to ease the wear and tear from his active summer with the U.S. Olympic team. Bucks coach Scott Skiles said Redd “probably” would play in the team’s second game against Golden State in the NBA China Games. The two teams will meet at the Olympic venue in Beijing on Saturday morning (Friday night Milwaukee time). “We’ve got to manage it, just be wise,” Redd said about his use during the exhibition season. After one of his worst nights of the season Friday night in Orlando, Michael Redd bounced back with 33 on Saturday as Milwaukee lost to Chicago. It was his highest total so far in March, plus he dished out six assists for good measure.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Redd is too great a shooter to stay cold for long, and his 3-16, seven point line against the Magic was an aberration. The sweet-stroking lefty is scoring 23 a game this year
