Wizards F Butler sits out with bruised kneecap
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Wizards coach Flip Saunders expects forward Caron Butler to return Tuesday night against Cleveland.
Butler was hurt when he dived to the floor for a rebound in the second quarter of Friday's loss to Atlanta.
Butler had an X-ray and an MRI, with no structural damage found. Saunders says the injury is "nothing to be overly concerned with" and that there's a "pretty good chance" Butler will play in Washington's next game. (AP)

After banging his knee in Friday's game against Detroit, Washington forward Caron Butler sat out Saturday as the Wizards beat Philadelphia 109-03. Forward Darius Songaila got the start, posting 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Butler told the Washington Post on Friday evening that the knee felt "horrible", so his status is definitely in doubt for the Wizards' Monday night game against Indianapolis. Butler might not be considered an injury-prone player quite yet, but it's troubling that as his production has improved each season in Washington, his games played have decreased. Songaila and forward Andray Blatche are both worth monitoring until Caron returns.

All-star small forward Caron Butler was a surprise scratch Monday in the Wizards' 129-87 blowout loss to the Utah Jazz. Butler strained a hamstring on Sunday, and is considered day-to-day.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The injury is not a major concern yet, as this was the second of back-to-back contests for the Wizards and maybe they were just resting Butler. Andray Blatche started in his place and finished with six points, eight rebounds, and two blocks while the athletic Dominic McGuire came off the pine to post seven points, five boards, and two assists in 32 minutes.

FANTASY INSIGHT:
The 25 points mark the first time since Butler's return from a hip injury that he has scored over the 20-point mark. This is great news for the Wiz, as it shows he isn't still seriously affected by the problem. Butler has now played five games since his lengthy absence. Do keep in mind, however, that his scoring will be affected when Gilbert Arenas returns to the lineup, which may be soon.
