Source: Rockets agree on multiyear deal with Ariza
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The Houston Rockets have reached a multiyear deal with free agent Trevor Ariza, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Thursday night.
The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because NBA rules prohibit announcing free-agent deals until next week, said the Rockets offered Ariza the full mid-level exception for the first year, about $5.6 million. (NBA.com)

Forward Trevor Ariza will sit out about eight weeks because of a broken bone in his right foot, an event that further depletes the Lakers' frontcourt according to the LA Times.
It was enough to make Coach Phil Jackson sigh when he was asked about the recent rash of injuries.
"Yep, it's going to be one of those things," he said. "We just have to work our way through this. Unfortunately for Trevor, he was playing really well."
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Ariza's absence will probably mean more minutes for Luke Walton, who was averaging 7.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 25.4 minutes a game before Monday.

With Luke Walton out with an injury, Trevor Ariza started at small forward for the Lakers on Tuesday and finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and a blocked shot in 33 minutes of play.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Given the way that the other four starters played, it was tough for Ariza to get some shots his way, but he did well going 7-of-12 from the floor and helped his cause by adding three assists.
