Knicks G Robinson to miss time with ankle injury
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Knicks guard Nate Robinson will miss at least a week of action due to a sprained left ankle.
The reserve guard is on crutches after suffering the injury on Saturday versus the Sixers. Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni said Robinson will have X-rays.
"I would say two weeks, but it could be 10 days or 17 days. I don't think anyone knows yet," said D'Antoni when asked how long Robinson will be out. (Sports Network)

Knicks G Robinson arrested in the Bronx.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The Knicks guard Nate Robinson was reportedly arrested in the Bronx on Tuesday evening for driving with a suspended license.
According to a report in the New York Post, Robinson was driving with Nets player Terrence Williams on a license that was suspended in June for the fifth time. After police pulled the two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion over, they arrested and charged him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. (Sports Network)

On Saturday Nate Robinson simply went off for a career-high 45 points against the Trail Blazers. His huge outing wasn't enough to prevent a 120-114 overtime loss, but he continues to be very productive in his recent stint as a starter. He also had six assists and six boards in the defeat.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
There haven't been too many bright spots this season for the struggling-again Knicks, but Robinson has been one of them. The diminutive guard has shown he is ready for prime time whenever given the chance, and he should continue to get it as the Knicks play out the string.

There's an old expression: watch what you wish for, because you just might get it. That might apply to Nate Robinson these days, if his recent play is any indicator. The talented combo guard has been impressive all season long and recently that has earned him a starting job at point guard for the Knicks. The problem is he just hasn't looked great as a starter since the promotion.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
In two games since becoming a starter, Robinson has hit just 7-of-26 on his field-goal attempts and averaged only four assists per those starts.

All season long Nate Robinson has quietly been the Knicks' most effective and efficient all-round guard. Robinson has only recently been given a chance to play major minutes for the Knicks, but he's producing.
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The absence of Stephon Marbury has pressed Robinson into action, and in January the diminutive combo guard is averaging 16.4 points, five assists, three boards, and 47 percent from the field. It should be only a matter of time before he takes over as New York's starting point guard.

In comments to the New York Daily News, Knicks coach Isiah Thomas indicated that he is leaning towards using shooting guard Jamal Crawford as the team's primary point guard over the season's second half. With Stephon Marbury likely done for the season with an injured ankle, Nate Robinson had been seeing most of the minutes at the point recently. The decision to go with Crawford likely stems from Robinson's shot-happy approach over the past couple of seasons. However, it should be noted that Robinson did manage to record nine assists against Washington on Friday and another seven helpers against Miami on Saturday, while at the same time only turning the ball over a total of four times. |
