Justin Maki wants to know: why no love for Anquan Boldin?
|
Explain your pre-draft strategy for this type of draft format. To
be totally honest most of my attention lately has been on rookie drafts as I do
not play in any redraft leagues, but I knew going in that I would probably go
with RB/RB and WR/WR with my first four picks.
I had no idea what slot I would pick from until about 15 minutes prior to the draft; my team was awarded pick #8 so I knew right away I could land two quality RBs with my first two picks.
Explain the thought process behind your first-round selection.
I took Edgerrin James with my first selection. With guys like Rudi Johnson, Laurence Maroney and Shaun Alexander still on the board you probably think I am out of my mind but I really like the new staff in Arizona and I do believe that we will see a much more effective running game this year.Looking back now I probably should have taken Johnson and hoped that Edge fell to me in the next round, but 90 seconds goes by fast when your trying to plan ahead!!
Which
was your best value pick, and why?
For my best value pick I have to go with Anquan Boldin with the 41st overall. In a league that starts three WRs, he was great value in that slot in my opinion. If that doesn't do it for you, grabbing John Kitna with the 104th selection was pretty solid as well if you ask me.
Which
pick would you "do over" if you had the chance, and why?
I very stupidly drafted Todd Heap thinking I could get Ladell Betts on the way back down but that Lucas woman stole him with the #82 pick, quickly making me sick to my stomach.
Not
including yourself, which owner had the best overall draft, and why?
After looking over all of the teams I think that the "other"
Justin, Mr. Kopacz, put together the best team in this format.Carson Palmer and Steve McNair make a solid combo and Larry Johnson has the ability to make up for what LaMont Jordan doesn't give him at the RB position.Steve Smith and Chad Johnson will be a lethal 1-2 punch and Greg Jennings should be even better this year so his starting three will be solid. The only issue with this team will be injuries. The lack of solid depth at RB could kill this team, especially if LJ misses any time.
Not
including yourself, which owner had the worst overall draft, and why?
I'm not one to rip on another even when given permission by the boss so I will say that all of us could have done better. How's that for being a good corporate citizen?
