A History of Consistency

Not surprisingly, Tomlinson is the most consistent back over the past five seasons, according to Bob Lung.

Studs are studs,
right? So, if your team is stacked with
a starting lineup of Peyton Manning, Larry Johnson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Chad
Johnson, Torry Holt, Terrell Owens and Antonio Gates, why would you
ever worry about losing in a head to head environment! You have the best of the best! The problem is that unless you’re drafting
against your dog, your cat and Paris Hilton, you’re probably NOT going to end
up with all of those players on your team.
In fact, if you get two or three of them, you’d be happy.
While many of the
names at the top of these lists won’t surprise you, some may. For example, the most consistent running
back over the last five years is Tomlinson, but who is tied for the SECOND most
consistent running back over the last five years? Alexander? Johnson? Well, actually it would be neither. But first off, we look at the
quarterbacks. Remember, this is WCOFF
(Point Per Reception) scoring.

The key for these
charts are really the players who have earned a “Double Five” (five years of
double digit QG’s). Over the past five
years, there is only one quarterback who has earned this distinction. That is, of course, Peyton Manning. The biggest surprise here has to be Brett Favre
at number three! He’s even consistent
with his consistency by earning eight, nine or ten Quality Games each
season. Trent Green would have
certainly ranked second if he hadn’t been injured. Keep both of these players in my mind late in your draft this
season.
Now,
let’s look at this same list, but for the past three seasons.
