Madwoman: Things are Getting Good!
 Michael Strahan - Fantasy Football
Why did it have to come to this, Michael?

Bill Walsh passed away this past week.  He was quite an offensive innovator with the creation of the West Coast Offense.  He demanded perfection from his coaches and players and it showed in their performance.  His offense is on display with many teams in the NFL along with the coaching legacy he leaves behind.  With all the current NFL head coaches that he developed over the years, the talent that he found from the college ranks, three Super Bowl Championships, his legacy is ensured for quite some time.  Rest well Bill, rest well.

Training camp is in full swing for all 32 teams!!  Real news to look at now.  Players will be rising up and dropping down draft boards across the country.  More and more people will be crawling out of the woodwork to get any last minute information on who to or who not to take where they are thinking about taking them.  With that, I will start rambling away.

Frank Gore broke a bone in his right hand in a non-contact drill.  Let’s see, two major knee surgeries, two shoulder surgeries and now a broken bone in a non-contact drill.  Personally, this makes me nervous about owning him in one league but in others that I haven’t drafted as of yet, he is still a Top 5 selection.  However, that may play out differently as camp moves on and his situation changes.  I wouldn’t drop him yet but I’d be looking for his handcuff in the later rounds.

Priest Holmes is attempting a comeback?  While I love the guy and he helped my local league team to a title, I have to ask why?  Why risk a permanent injury?  You were out for basically two years.  Enjoy the retirement with your limbs all working.  Best case though, if he does make it to the active roster for the regular season is RB3 material.  He’s not going to be asked to handle the load for KC.

LJ really needs to get his ass back into camp.  While I agree that he is worth a helluva lot more than his current contract, he is under contract.  Get in camp and keep your agent working on renegotiations.  I know that he is looking at LT money, which is in excess of 20M guaranteed and the Chiefs are looking more at 14M.  I would think that they could come to some sort of middle ground. If LJ gets his contract and reports, LJ is a Top 5 selection.  Watch those objects in the mirror though, they are closer than they appear.

So, is Michael Strahan going to retire or not?  Let’s not play around trying to gain a little home made leverage.  Either retire or report.

I see Adam Jones is staying in the news.  Now he is contemplating wrestling.  Oh boy!!

There are seven 1st rounders still unsigned.  I can understand the waiting game in trying to get the best deal but you now know how your spot is slotted (with the exception of the first two picks) so get signed.

Na’il Diggs is injured and it doesn’t look all that pretty.  Jon Beason is still unsigned.  I wonder where the leverage is?  Carolina had best get this guy signed before that asking price rises any more.

C-Pep signs a one-year deal with Oakland.  With this and the continued holdout of Jamarcus Russell, I would drop him down a few slots because I don’t see him starting this year (barring injury).  With Josh McCown there, Russell had a shot at a mid-season starting gig.  With C-Pep signed, I don’t see that happening.  If you are not counting on him getting much, if any, playtime, pick him wherever you want!

Brady Quinn needs to get into camp and fast.  If he really wants to start this year, he needs to be there.  I’m not too impressed with this posturing.  If he was a sure fire top 10 pick, he would have been picked in the top 10.  Teams have needs and he fell to #22.  Live with it and sign a contract worth #22 money and get incentives included so you can make all the money you want!

I believe in many things and the first thing I believe is that I will not be commenting further on the Vick case.  I’ll let everyone else do that.  Seems that one of his co-defendants is getting ready to do some talking.

And then we come to Mr. X.  Funny.  I live in “Parts Unknown” and I never see you around.  Parts Unknown isn’t for “city boys” like yourself.  So go take your poodle for a walk with your sweater over your shoulders.  PETA will not bother you if they see you as you are and you can sleep all day or watch soaps or whatever it is you do in the city.

Until next time, it’s time for this one to Ramble On.  See Ya Next Time!
