Madwoman: The Wacky Start

There comes a point in everyone’s fantasy life when they realize that…. Oh!!  Sorry.  Wrong article!!

Hiya again people!!  Has the first three weeks of the season been wacky or what?!?  Scoring is way up (in the league guys, in the league), the Browns actually won a shootout with someone, the Raiders get screwed by a last second time out only to watch Janikowski miss on the “real” attempt then they pull the same thing on Cleveland the following week and have it work like gold.  Wacky times.

Will it end?  I certainly hope not!!  That’s what makes the games great!!  There’s always one game (at a minimum) that makes ya go “Huh?”.  Some thoughts on the season thus far.

Rex is a goner, FINALLY!  While the Bears D has held this team up for the last few years, it’s starting to crumble.  With injuries starting to hit the D, Grossman is out and Griese is in.  Is this better?  It almost has to be.  If you are going after Griese, start him against Detroit’s porous defense then sit him to sort out what he is really going to do.

Somewhere, I’ll bet, Marty Schottenheimer is laughing.

LT2 held to 130 yards in three games?  How long can that possibly last?  Well, Rivers had better show some sort of consistency with his WRs to get those 8 guys out of the box.  I think that happens against KC and LT has a jailbreak this weekend.  If you’re seriously considering benching him (you’reinsane if you are), this ISN’T the weekend to do it.  Start LT with confidence.

Green Bay is 3-0?  Go figure!!  The real surprise is the fact that Brett Favre isn’t turning it over.  The “ball control” passing game seems to be working out nicely for him since the Pack can’t run the ball.  When they get that part of the game going, I think they have a defense to do some severe damage.

Randy Moss is superhuman right now.  For those who had the guts to go get him, good for you.  With him missing pretty much the whole preseason, I didn’t know what to expect so I stayed away.  Guess ya just have to admit when you are wrong and I was wrong.  Brady is going to be the same way.  He’s never had this kind of firepower before (Moss, Welker).

Brian Leonard is the starting RB in St. Louis.  Now who would have thought that would have been said this year?  For those who drafted him in their rookie drafts, I think you’ll be pleaed with him over the next few weeks.  Granted, this week against Dallas might be tough and they will most likely be playing from behind but if you play in a PPR league, you may have found a nugget of gold the next few weeks.

Where is Drew Brees?  What happened to the Saint Offense?  They just can’t seem to get anything right and now they have to try without Deuce. McAllister’s loss for the season will hurt this team and they will have to rely on Reggie Bush to make things happen.  I don’t think that Reggie can handle that many touches a game so who gets to help out?  Aaron Stecker anyone?

In the “You Have to be Kidding Me” area, we find Michael Vick is being indicted by the State of Virginia on related dogfighting charges.  Nice piling on by the prosecutors there!  I would think that some of what they are charging him with would fall under the “double jeopardy” thing but I’m no lawyer.  Further, it was reported that Vick tested positive for marijuana during a test administered on September 13th.  And the hits just keep on coming.  I’m sure that this won’t look good on him when he shows up to be sentenced in federal court.

And on that note people, it’s time for this one to Ramble On.  See Ya Next Time!!
