Revis has been a bright spot in an otherwise bleak Jets' season.

Linebackers
Patrick
Willis, San Francisco 49ers
Season
Stats: 67 solos, 25 assists, 0.5 sacks, 0 INT, 1 FF, 2 Pass Def.
Last Week:
3 solos, 1 assist, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 0 Pass Def.
Not the best of afternoons for Willis, but we forecasted a
weak outing during last week’s review. This week features Willis facing the Arizona Cardinals, a team
that succumbed to 11 total tackles by Willis on opening night. While the last few games are leaning towards
Willis not repeating that performance but he should definitely be able to
improve from his four-tackle outing against the Rams. For now, Willis should still be the frong-runner for the
defensive Rookie of the Year, but that gap has closed considerably.
Jon
Beason, Carolina Panthers
Season
Stats: 63 solos, 18 assists, 0.0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 4 Pass Def.
Last Week:
7 solos, 2 assists, 0.0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 1 Pass Def.
With 20 total tackles over the past two weeks, Beason is
definitely the flavor of the month for rookie fanatics. The fact that he managed to record nine
tackles against a pass-first Packers team speaks volumes and cements Beason as
a LB1 for the upcoming game against the Saints. The big plays have yet to rise to the scene for the rookie, but
as long as he is averaging nine tackles per game (as he had over the past
month), you won’t hear many owners complaining.
David
Harris, New York Jets
Season
Stats: 58 solos, 25 assists, 2.0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 1 Pass Def.
Last Week:
6 solos, 0 assists, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 0 Pass Def (Week 12)
We had a request to add Harris to the rookie report mix, and
for good reason. With 58 tackles over
the past four weeks, Harris has been an absolute animal in the place of the
injured Jonathan Vilma. While his totals have come down a bit since
his 17 and 24 tackles back in weeks eight and nine respectively, 17 tackles in
the past two weeks are nothing to be ashamed of. Look for Harris to continue playing at this level given the lack
of offense coming from the Green and White.
Defensive
Linemen
Amobi
Okoye, Houston Texans
Season
Stats: 20 solos, 5 assists, 5.0 sacks, 0 INT, 1 FF, 0 Pass Def.
Last Week:
0 solos, 1 assist, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 0 Pass Def.
As we mentioned last week, Okoye should only be owned in the
most dire of situations. He’s slowing
down considerably, and being as young as he is – it’s not very surprising. A campaign that surpassed a ton of
expectations; look for more from this kid further down the road.
Gaines
Adams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Season
Stats: 13 solos, 7 assists, 3.5 sacks,
0 INT, 1 FF, 2 Pass Def.
Last Week:
3 solos, 0 assists, 2.0 sacks, 0 INT, 1 FF, 0 Pass Def.
Adams quietly had one of the better defensive lines last
week as the Bucs took down the Falcons.
The fourth overall selection now has 3.5 sacks on the season with his
double-bagger last week. While he’ll be
up and down as seen in the previous few contests, it looks like Adams should be
a stronghold for the Bucs over the next several years.
Defensive
Backs
LaRon
Landry, Washington Redskins
Season
Stats: 42 solos, 22 assists, 1.5 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 3 Pass Def.
Last Week:
6 solos, 0 assists, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 0 Pass Def.
Yes, the six tackles are an upgrade over his one assist from
a week earlier, but Landry has cooled down a ton over the past few weeks and is
border lining on the “OK to drop” list.
The Tampa Bay Bucs will provide a few chances for Landry to earn his
paycheck, but until he does so on a consistent basis, feel free to test other
options in IDP formats.
Eric
Wright, Cleveland Browns
Season
Stats: 64 solos, 4 assists, 1.0 sacks, 1 INT, 0 FF, 8 Pass Def.
Last Week:
N/A
The Browns suffered a serious worry last week when their
rookie cornerback went down with a knee injury before recording a defensive
statistic. Thankfully, the injury will
not require surgery, but he will definitely miss this week’s game against the
Houston Texans. With the air attack of
the Texans, Wright will miss out on what would have been a wealth of
opportunity. Daven Holley will take his place in the starting set and we will
update you on Wright’s status as we can.
Darrelle
Revis, New York Jets
Season
Stats: 58 solos, 10 assists, 0.0 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF, 11 Pass Def.
Last Week:
5 solos, 0 assists, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 FF, 1 Pass Def (Week 12)
Like his teammate David Harris, Darrelle Revis is long
overdue for this mention in the rookie report.
Revis may not have racked up a ton of stats this past Thursday, but one quick look at the line of Terrell Owens
(aside from the touchdown) and you’ll notice that it was relatively quiet. The rookie cornerback was on Owens all game long and has even displayed a bit of a physical presence. Teams will pick on him a bit over the home
stretch due to this being his rookie season, but Revis is showing why the Jets
traded up to acquire him.
