Cutler hasn't been a stud, but he still has a bright future.

Teams on bye this
week: None.
Top Performers for Week Fourteen
QB
Tom Brady,
Patriots: Brady is now at 45 TDs and
seems a lock to break Manning’s record of 49TDs in a season… the only question remaining is whether he can surpass Dan Marino’s mark of 5,084 yards. To do that, he’d have to average 330 yards over the next three games. He’s got the Jets, Dolphins and Giants remaining, so the odds of success should be fairly good.
Stat Line: 32-46-399, 4 TDs passing; 1-4-0 rushing.
Jay Cutler,
Broncos: Many fantasy owners would likely
express disappointment in Cutler, but that may just be the result of lofty
expectations more than any regression in Cutler’s progress. Cutler has had a very solid, QB2-type of season, and is definitely worth keeping in dynasty leagues as a young QB play.
Stat Line: 20-27-244, 4 TDs passing; 5-22-0 rushing.
Matt Hasselbeck,
Seahawks: Both Mighty Max and I had
Hasselbeck rated as one of our top QB value picks prior to the season; we
reiterated at mid-season that Hasselbeck would be a strong QB play for the
remainder of the season. So far, Hasselbeck has justified our faith in him and
should still close out the season strong.
Stat Line: 22-33-272, 4 TDs passing; 4-3-0 rushing.
Peyton Manning,
Colts: Very efficient performance in collecting four touchdowns by Manning.
Stat Line: 13-17-249, 4 TDs passing.
Drew Brees, Saints: Brees started really slowly, but has been coming on like gangbusters. Given that the Saints are still mathematically alive for a wildcard spot, expect Brees to be flinging the ol’ pigskin.
Stat Line: 28-41-328, 3 TDs passing; 2-(-1)-0 rushing.
RB
Marion Barber,
Cowboys: Barber was pretty much bottled up
by the Lions, but he was still able to find the end zone three times. Julius
Jones is now officially and afterthought.
Stat Line: 7-43-2 rushing; 10-61-1 receiving.
LaDainian
Tomlinson, Chargers: Another
day, another top performance by LT. Is anyone out there surprised? If so, do
yourself a favor and get a CAT scan.
Stat Line: 26-146-1 rushing; 5-27-1 receiving.
Joseph Addai,
Colts: Much like Barber, he was pretty
much kept in check in terms of his yardage, but scored the hat trick.
Stat Line: 13-32-2 rushing; 3-49-1 receiving.
Jamal Lewis,
Browns: Tough guy who gets all the
touches for the Browns—who are still fighting for a post-season spot, so J-Lew will likely churn out the yards the next three weeks.
Stat Line: 21-118-1 rushing; 3-19-1 receiving.
Earnest Graham,
Bucs: Been saying it for weeks: Graham
is not automatically going to be shown the bench in 2008 when Cadillac Williams comes back. He’s good enough to remain the starter.
Stat Line: 15-61-2 rushing; 6-45-0 receiving.
WR
Brandon Marshall, Broncos: Might be the best receiver who
gets the least amount of love from both the media and most fantasy owners.
Marshall’s numbers have no doubt benefited from Javon Walker’s absence, but he’s a player on the rise.
Stat Line: 1-10-0 rushing; 10-115-2 receiving.
Randy Moss, Patriots: Still going strong.
Stat Line: 7-135-2 receiving.
Anthony Gonzalez, Colts: Gonzalez is starting to become a viable option for Manning in Harrison’s absence. I see a lot of parallels between Gonzalez and another former Colts’ #1 pick: Reggie Wayne.
Stat Line: 6-134-2 receiving.
Marques Colston, Saints: Clearly, as Brees goes, so does Colston (and vice-versa).
Stat Line: 9-92-2 receiving.
David Patten, Saints: No reasonable explanation here…
Stat Line: 9-122-1 receiving.
TE
Jason Witten,
Cowboys: A record-setting day by Witten
(most catches in a game by a TE), but more importantly, he was able to overcome a costly fumble at the Lions’ goal line late in the game by hauling in the winning TD from Romo.
Stat Line: 15-138-1 receiving.
Tony Gonzalez,
Chiefs:
Keeps on chugging.
Stat Line: 7-76-1 receiving.
Robert Royal,
Bills: A career run-blocker, I have no
explanation for Royal’s outburst, other than the stars were aligned and that the Bills were playing the woeful Dolphins.
Stat Line: 3-46-2 receiving.
Antonio Gates,
Chargers: Gates may not be getting
the 15 looks a game he’s been accustomed to, but he’s still a top performing tight end and will occasionally bust out a huge game.
Stat Line: 6-57-1 receiving.
Donald Lee,
Packers: Ah, if you’re still buying into the concept that Bret Favre wants to throw to the TE, you are mistaken.
Stat Line: 4-71-1 receiving.
