Brady has injured finger
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady spent the second half of Thursday night's preseason win over the Saints on the sidelines with his right hand wrapped in a towel. At various times, he appeared to be flexing the middle finger on his throwing hand.
It's not clear if the finger is broken, sprained, swollen, or none of the above. But, something isn't right and it bears watching. (Boston Herald)

Brady wins AP Comeback Player of the Year
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Brady's strong return from a left knee injury that sidelined him for all but the first quarter of the 2008 opener earned the New England Patriots quarterback the award Wednesday. One of football's biggest stars, Brady has gone from NFL Most Valuable Player in 2007, when he set several passing records, to sidelined to earning his second league award.
He received 19 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the NFL, beating Tampa Bay running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, who got 14. (AP)

Brady's Injury Reportedly Not Serious
FANTASY INSIGHT:
According to a report by the Boston Globe, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did not suffer a serious shoulder injury during Friday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field.
The Globe quoted an unnamed source as saying there are not any concerns and there is no need for hysteria about Brady's shoulder, which was hurt on a hit by Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
Brady's shoulder is sore but it appears that he will be fine, the Globe reported.

Brady hurts shoulder
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Brady ended the half getting his right shoulder squashed by ‘Skins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth and spent the next few minutes on the sidelines shaking it out, attemping to throw. He did not receive medical attention heading into the locker room.
Yet with a minute left in the third quarter, Brady trotted off the field with the medical staff, specifically Dr. Thomas Gill… He didn’t appear to be in pain, so maybe it’s precautionary. (BostonHerald.com)

Brady underwent two more procedures on knee
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The Boston Herald reported Thursday that doctors have performed two procedures in addition to the one that Brady confirmed on his official web site last week, in hopes to quell the infection.
Brady suffered what has widely been reported to be tears of his ACL and MCL during New England's season-opening victory, and, according to the Herald, underwent surgery to repair the ligaments on October 6 by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Brady has stayed on the West Coast, and has received his follow-up treatment at the same clinic. (Sports Network)

Tom Brady will require surgery on his injured left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season.

According to a release issued by the team, quarterback Tom Brady's 2008 season is over.
"After extensive tests this morning, it was revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's left knee, which was injured in the first quarter of yesterday's game, will require surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season." (FOXSports.com)

Brady, whose streak of 128 straight starts is the third-longest ever, left Sunday's game against Kansas City after he was hit by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard in the first quarter of New England's 17-10 victory. Patriots coach Bill Belichick offered no information on the injury, and Brady was not available for comment after the game, but reports circulated around the league that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament.
