New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

Brought to you by Who2beton.com
The 2007-08 NBA season begins tonight for the NY Knicks as they invade the
Quicken Loans Arena to take on Lebron and the Cavs who opened up their season
on Wednesday night at home vs. Dallas. The Cavaliers went on to compete for
the NBA Championship vs. San Antonio last year, but the Knicks fell short of
the #8 seed in the second season on the last day of last years regular season
schedule.
Each club returns a bulk of last year’s team. NY returns Jamal Crawford
and Stephon Marbury at the guard positions with big man Eddie Curry in the middle.
SF Quentin Richardson, otherwise known as “Q”, looks to bounce back
from last years nightmare season that saw him on the IR for a bulk of the season.
Looking to compete for points in the paint will be Power Forward Zach Randolph
who could be the missing ingredient in getting this offense more consistent.
Their bench is very deep and will definitely contribute to the Knicks finally
reaching the post-season this year…
As for the Cavs, not much has changed. King Lebron is back as the leader of
this club, and his marry band of misfits return fully intact. Ilgauskas is back
in the middle and Drew Gooden is back at the PF position. The Cavs front office
is hoping to get more from SG Larry Hughes this season in terms of staying healthy.
His absence played a crucial role in molding some of their newer faces a year
ago, and the club is excited to see how the guys mesh now that they’re
all 100%. PG Daniel Gibson hopes to prove his coming out party in the post-season
wasn’t fiction….
These clubs split their four meetings last season with each team picking up
a win on their opponents court. In their two games at Cleveland last year, the
Knicks won SU as 9.5-point road dogs and lost in humiliating fashion 90-68 as
10-point underdogs. Oddsmakers opened the Cavaliers up as 6.5-point home chalks
for this match-up with the ‘Total’ set at 186’.
Will Lebron and the Cavs bounce back from their despicable opening night home
loss to Dallas, or will the upstart Knicks hand them their second loss of the
season. Tune in at 7:35 ET to find out….
