FANTASY INSIGHT:
Thrashers rookie forward Evander Kane will have a CT scan taken of his injured left foot on Tuesday. Injury and playing-status updates will come following the test, a team official said.
Kane injured the foot blocking a shot early in Saturday’s game at Tampa Bay. He left and didn't return. He missed Sunday’s game against Carolina because of the injury, only the second game he’s missed all season. (AJC.com)

Ducks acquire Ward for Pogge, pick
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The Ducks have added a veteran presence to their blue line, acquiring defenseman Aaron Ward from the Carolina Hurricanes.
Ward, 37, is a three-time Stanley Cup winner who can provide a strong physical element. In 60 games, he has 138 hits and led the Hurricanes with 122 blocked shots. Those numbers would put him at the top of the list among Ducks defensemen. He also has 1 goal, 11 points and 54 penalty minutes. (NHL.com)

Bruins acquire D Seidenberg from Florida
FANTASY INSIGHT:
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli wasted no time replacing Derek Morris. The Bruins acquired defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and a prospect from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Craig Weller, Byron Bitz and a second-round draft pick.
Morris was traded earlier Wednesday to Phoenix for a fourth round pick in 2011. (NHL.com)

Canucks unload Mathieu Schneider
FANTASY INSIGHT:
The Canucks found a taker for Mathieu Schneider, sending the veteran defenceman to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Schneider played just 17 games with the Canucks after being signed in the summer, dogged by injuries and clashing with Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault. The 40-year-old has been playing with Vancouver’s affiliate in the AHL, the Manitoba Moose.
Should he suit up for the Coyotes at some point, it will be the 10th NHL club he’s played for in a career that began in 1988. Schneider has 223 goals and 516 assists in 1,281 games, with 1,241 penalty minutes. (CBC.ca)

Florida D Leopold sent to Penguins for draft pick

The Penguins have acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold in a deal with the Florida Panthers.
