The Jets are building something special in New York and are on
their way to becoming a very good team. Building a defense is what takes a
team to the next level, and the Jets need to address their lack of depth on
the defensive line. Georgia’s
Charles Johnson adds depth and
versatility to New York’s
emerging defense.

Philadelphia is known for
identifying certain positions in the draft and building for the present and
the future with their draft picks. With Donte’ Stallworth on his way out, via
free agency, the Eagles may look to add LSU’s Dwayne Bowe. Adding speed in
the return game with a versatile defensive back like Texas’ Aaron Ross is the right move
for Philly.

The Saints have a dynamic offense with Drew
Brees, Reggie Bush, and Deuce McAllister leading the way, but something is
missing. When Brees was in San Diego,
he had a great tight end in Antonio Gates. The Saints need to give Brees an
option over the middle that can make plays. Miami’s Greg Olsen is an excellent choice at this selection.

The Patriots are a team that can plug any
receiver into their offense and be successful – at least that’s what they
thought. Tom Brady is the best quarterback in football and he can make an
average receiver look great (Look what he did for Jabar Gaffney!). But adding
talent to the receiving position is a must and with Bowe available,
the Patriots add a big, physical receiver with a lot of talent.

It appears that the Ravens will lose Adalius
Thomas to free agency, and finding a replacement is something the Ravens will
identify. This draft is full of talented linebackers with big impact ability.
Drafting a player as versatile as Purdue’s Anthony Spencer will benefit the Ravens’ defense.

The Chargers need to add a receiver to their offense
and give Phillip Rivers a deep threat. South
Carolina’s Sidney Rice is the perfect receiver to
fit in the Chargers offense. Rice
is tall, fast and can jump out of any stadium. He’s the perfect red zone
threat for the Chargers.

It’s obvious that Rex Grossman is still a work
in progress, and there are some serious doubts that he will become a quality
quarterback. One way to find out is to give him some protection, and Texas’ versatile
offensive lineman Justin Blalock
adds depth to the Bears o-line.

The Colts are ready to wave goodbye to
linebacker Cato June, and that leaves Indianapolis
searching for a replacement. Penn
State’s Paul Posluszny
had an excellent workout in Indy at the combine, and Bill Polian and his
staff had a front row seat for that performance. Posluszny is the perfect fit for the Colts defense.
