With Deon Grant signing with the Seattle Seahawks, the Jaguars will look to upgrade at safety. But with Florida’s Reggie Nelson off the board, Jacksonville will wait until the second round to address the secondary. Nelson’s teammate, “The Florida Freak” Jarvis Moss, provides depth and athleticism to the Jaguars defense.

It’s obvious that the Bengals will draft a defensive player, but at what position? When you look at the Bengals roster, you notice that there are a lot of holes at linebacker. Adding a young, athletic linebacker is a major defensive need and Florida State’s Lawrence Timmons becomes an instant starter for Cincinnati.

One of the most surprising teams of 2006, the Titans have a bright future with Vince Young at the helm. Adding weapons around Young is a must and what better way to do that than adding a player with whom you’re familiar. Tennessee Vols receiver Robert Meachem had a breakout year this past season, with over 1,300 yards receiving. The Titans are hoping they found a player to match with Young.

The Giants decided to cut ties with former first round pick Luke Petitgout, and that leaves a hole on the offensive line. Protecting Eli Manning is a priority for the Giants and adding a big, physical tackle is a must. Penn State’s Levi Brown is the answer for New York.

The Broncos were hoping for Reggie Nelson, but with him off the board, they will look at another safety. With John Lynch getting older and the death of Darrent Williams forcing Domonique Foxworth back to corner, developing and adding another safety is a must. TexasMichael Griffin is the choice.

The Cowboys have a lot of concerns to address on their team: the offensive line, wide receiver, and the secondary. Adding a safety to compliment Roy Williams would help, but with Michael Griffin off the board, the Cowboys will address another position in the secondary – cornerback. ArkansasChris Houston is an excellent cover man and adds speed to the Dallas secondary.

Dwayne Jarrett

The Chiefs need a receiver. It’s obvious to everyone that they lack a big-play threat on the outside. The Chiefs have the best tight end in the league in Tony Gonzalez and he provides a big target to over the middle, but adding a big target on the outside is a top priority. USC’s Dwayne Jarrett is the answer for K.C.

The New England Patriots tagged Asante Samuel as their franchise player and that was something that needed to happen. Another thing that needs to happen is to give Samuel some help on the other side. TexasAaron Ross is a physical corner that fits well in the Patriots secondary and is also an excellent return man/gunner.
