The Cardinals luck out and have the best offensive lineman fall to them, and it just happens to be the player they coveted the most – offensive tackle Joe Thomas. Thomas gives Arizona an upgrade from Leonard Davis and a player with a high ceiling. I am sure Matt Leinart is smiling over this selection.

There are many areas the Redskins could address with this selection. LSU’s LaRon Landry could upgrade Washington’s secondary. Arkansas’ Jamaal Anderson could give the Redskins a potentially dominant pass rusher, but adding a big, physical defensive tackle like Alan Branch is the answer the Redskins were looking for.

The Vikings have many needs, and some are more glaring than others. Obviously Minnesota needs to add a receiver, but in a deep receiving class they feel they can wait until round two. With a potentially dominant defensive end on the board in ArkansasJamaal Anderson, the Vikings look to improve their pass rush and select the former SEC sack leader.

The Falcons traded backup quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans, and doing so, allowed the Falcons to swap first round picks with the Texans. Atlanta made a good move because this trade allows them to secure LSU’s star safety LaRon Landry. Landry becomes an instant starter on a team desperately seeking safety help.
